My First Excursion into Polyclay
Polymer clay is one of those crafting mediums that I eyed for a long time but felt like it would be way too involved so didn't try. But I gave in because browsing on etsy I'd occasionally find things that were very 'wait I could make that'. And so the last large firemountaingems order that went out, I got a set of polymer clay things.
And of course I couldn't help but to do something super nerdy with it. So the rabbits as creepy as they look are supposed to be "Yuki Usagi" literally Snow Rabbit. It's one of those things that little kids make out of snow in Japan, modeled after one of the species of rabbits that changes color from brown to white with the seasons (Mountain Hares if you're curious.)
And then inspired by the ever rotating ramen bowl picture in the banner above, I made.... ramen earrings. The fixings here are corn, egg, seaweed, Pork, Fish Cake.
And the final moment of nerd tasticalness is the Angel & Devil Totoro's for a page in my to be made eventually wedding scrapbook. I totally have aspirations to make some more 3-D versions into earrings at a later point.
But anyways, thus ends my first foray into polymer clay.
